Cornhole: Great Picnic Fun

Do you remember your last picnic? If not, then it wasn't memorable enough. I don't recall my last picnic, but a part of the reason for that is the last picnic I went to was many, many years ago. I plan to change that trend in the coming year, partly because of family dynamics that have changed, but also because I have found out about the cornhole game. The first time I played it, I was hooked, and I knew that the cornhole game would make a great picnic activity.

Anyone can play cornhole

It doesn't matter whether you're five years old or ninety-five, cornhole is one of those amazing games beyond playing cards like Rummy or Bridge- that can be played by everyone. And what's even more amazing is that this age range can compete against each other with a generally level playing field. Younger players, of course, may need some accommodations due to their size or strength, but other than that, it is a great activity.

The first time I played cornhole, it was shall we say- less than memorable. I could barely hit the board and was beaten quite handily by my brother-in-law every game. And still I couldn't get enough because it brought out laughter and joy among the entire family gathering. I eventually improved, though I still didn't win any matches.

The picnic is the perfect location

When people go out for a picnic, whether they are with family or friends, activities are as important as the food. Barbequing hot dogs and hamburgers while people are tossing bean bags back and forth seem like they were meant to go together since the dawn of time. There are a number of things that people do at a picnic, such as playing Frisbee, flying a kite, or tossing a football around. Some people bring along horseshoes or bocce as well, but these games don't accommodate people of all ages as well.

Cornhole is that one game that is unique and refreshing and something that everyone can enjoy, regardless of where they are or whom they're with. It is the ideal activity for any picnic, and the best part of all is that it is portable.

It may not appear to be all that portable at first glance, but once you realize how it breaks down, then you can understand that it can go anywhere without much hassle and that makes for an easy picnic, even one that's last minute. If you're looking for something different for your next picnic, then cornhole is the way to go.
