The beaches that you find along the Costa del Sol coastline are not only suitable for those wanting to enjoy the sun, but those who like water sports as well. In many cases you can enjoy both types of activities throughout the year as the climate here is pretty good. It is due to the fact that the mountains that look down over the area help to provide it with shelter from the winds that blow from inland.
In fact this is one of the few places in Europe where you are not restricted to sun bathing during the summer months. This is an area that is spoilt by having around 300 days of sunshine every year and so you can often sunbath when it is winter here. Although the temperatures may not be as pleasant as they are in the summer.
As well as having such great weather throughout the year the Costa del Sol has a wide variety of different beaches for you to enjoy. Of course there are the wide sandy ones that come with facilities that you can use including a promenade along which you can wander along. These will have various bars, restaurants and cafes that you can then stop up for some refreshment.
Plus if you are willing to get in a car and spend time driving around you may find a number of secluded beaches that you can use. These are the types that don't get used very often and come with some very wonderful views not only of the Mediterranean Sea but views of the mountains behind.
Generally the beaches on which you spend time on the Costa del Sol have strict dress codes although going topless on them is quite acceptable. However there are several nudist beaches including Cabopino which is just a short drive from Marbella.
