$37,000,000 ChargePoint America program is made possible by $15,000,000 grants financed by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act initiatives managed by the Transport Department of Electrical Energy. ChargePoint charging stations are now available for installation in all nine regional designated metropolitan areas in the United States. More than 1,000 new public charging stations will be installed by December 2010, adding to the existing network ChargePoint. Other stations will be installed in September 2011.

Chevrolet Volt, Ford Transit Connect and the Ford Focus electrical power through the Ford Blue Oval ChargePoint program, and the smart fortwo electric drive is introduced along with this program.
