Counter Siege Tanks With This Unique Tvt Strategy - Thors & Hellions
If you're tired of endless Terran vs Terran games in Starcraft 2
, then you need to start using this strategy! Unlike some games where both players get Tanks & Vikings then have a never-ending stalemate, use Thors and Hellions to counter Siege Tanks and bust through his defenses to take the win.
Start out with an early Thor by building a fast Factory and Armory. Then make another Factory to start pumping Hellions out of. With a Reactor, you'll mass a lot of Hellions very fast. It's a good idea to expand while your second Thor is building to be sure you have the resources to pull this off.
The best way to counter Siege Tanks with Thors and Hellions is to move in first with a Thor to soak up all the initial Siege Tank hits. Then drive in with your Hellions and the rest of your Thors. Focus the Tanks down with your Thors (only 3 hits will kill 1 Tank!). Get in close with your Hellions to roast the Marines guarding his Tanks in short order.
If you're going to try out this strategy you should focus on being as aggressive as you can. If you let your opponent turtle and build a ton of Tanks, they will take out your troops pretty quick. Get into his base early with your Thors and dash by his troops with your Hellions to kill off SCVs.
When you focus on staying ahead in the macro game by killing his SCVs and making lots of your own you'll end up having more troops and your bigger army will help you secure the win.
