Counterfeiters have hit the herbal incense industry; they have completely destroyed

the quality of herbal incense products throughout most of the nation, to the point where one kind of herbal incense called is almost out of business. The manufacturer of this incense claims that most of the product at the stores is counterfeit.

After a lengthy conversation with the different manufacturers it is clear that they will stop at nothing to stop counterfeiters from devaluing there product, including but not limited to litigation and seizure of product and assets of stores and wholesalers that are selling counterfeit product. A sweep last week of stores in the Miami area left several of them with no product and stern warnings from the manufacturer, one wholesaler is even facing a lawsuit which he has no chance of winning due to the stringent trademark infringement laws.

They believe they will have this under control by the end of November with the help of their loyal customers.

So are counterfeiters just a normal growing pain of companies? Some believe so, almost all big name products deal with counterfeiters, Coach, Nike, Motorola, among the many, but like all counterfeit products, when the consumer does not know he or she is being sold a counterfeit product they are the ones to receive the raw end of the deal, while manufacturers lose a customer.
