There are plenty of people out there looking for Halloween costume ideas for couples.

When looking for couples costumes, it is important to pick something that isn't overdone. It gets a bit boring when you have to look around and see a sea of Snookies, so really think about it. You and your partner have plenty of bonds through entertainment. Take your favorite show for instance. What kind of couples are in your favorite show? You could dress up like them.

Keeping up with something that is culturally important could be a great way to go about it. Whether you want to dress up as the president as his wife, or maybe Bill and Hillary, you could have a great time. It is always good to appeal to people's sense of humor, that way it promotes an even more fun time!

You could also go the way of the pop culture. Dress up like amazing fictional characters that happen to be part of couples. You can do this with a great deal with of creativity. Popular couples range from Sookie and Bill (or even Sookie and Eric). There are a lot of ways to go about this. Just avoid the couples that have been overdone and you should do fine. If you go out every year, you will see just what we mean. Just like those "I'm with stupid" shirts, a lot of couples tend to overuse that. Do not be one of those couples.

Think about all of the great messes that plague us due to Hollywood. Celebrities are great to make fun of and dressing up like them can be pretty amazing. Mel Gibson, David Hasselhoff, Charlie Sheen, Snookie, and Lindsay Lohan are a few that we can note. The list of hot messes is as long as the Harry Potter series, so you can find something if you think about it enough.

They can be hilarious and they are easy to do on your own, instead of going out and paying an arm and a leg for two different costumes. Dan and Roseanne Conner may have dressed up like the dead dummy duo every year, but you do not have to go that direction if you do not want to. Take a look around you and something will really pop out.

For those that are total and complete nerds, you could dress as Amy and Rory from Doctor Who. Or you could just skip Rory all together, although we love him, and simply go for the Doctor and Amy. It is really easy to swing dressing up like the 11th Doctor and all you have to do is go to a thrift store to find a nifty bowtie, blue button up shirt, and a silly fedorabecause all of those things are pretty cool, right?

Halloween costume ideas tend to be a dime a dozen, but not with some real creativity.
