Coupling in costa rica
Finally got our tax return check and the first thought that came to my mind was let's go coupling in Costa Rica. I Googled the word "couple" and Costa Rica vacations seem to have a little more lure and came up on the first page more than once. There was a movie and something about a golfer but mostly tropical romantic stuff. So I pulled up my Taca Airlines bookmark and got us a couple of round trip tickets out of San Francisco for a weeks stay in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica.
Jaco Beach is one of the best surfing spots in the world as they have recently had the World Championship of Surfing there, but how about the relaxing feeling of warm ocean water on your feet as the sounds of surf are washing sand in and around your toes. The climate there this time of year is great as there is not much rain. The temperature in Jaco is always mid 80's tomid 90's, never gets any colder than that. Kind of gets the kinks out lying in the sand on a warm tropical beach.
Most of us up here in California interact a lot with Hispanic people in our daily lives. You could probably say that's true for most people in the western states. We're accustomed to being around Spanish speaking people and have learned to speak a little Spanish as we go. So a vacation in Latin America not only feels a little like home it's always a kick to brush up on our Spanish together as a couple.
The Spanish we're exposed to in the states is primarily Mexican Spanish and in Costa Rica they speak Costa Rican Spanish which is a little something different. Even the language center in your Windows computer lists Costa Rican Spanish.
We like to stay at a hotel that caters to couples, is adults only, has nude sun bathing and will give us an eigthnight free if we stay for a week. Of course great food and entertainment cannot be overlooked. Tough call, but when we're treating ourselves to a vacation we only want the best!
Thanks to out Internet research we found the Copacabana Desire Hotel which is located right on the beach in Jaco. I've read a lot of stories from postings on the Internet and it looks like they offer more of a lifestyle atmosphere instead of just getting a room somewhere.
The entertainment calendar there includes 6 nights of on site activities, singing and dancing, and 3 different live bands along with a Latin music show. Tuesday nights hear the renowned Argentinean guitarist Koco and his somewhat reggae band the Wetbacks. Wednesday nights is party with the Wild on Wednesday's shots competition, and that's the one where they take the shot from between the legs of the guys, and the gals get the white cream all over their faces. Thursday night's its Karaoke, and in Latin America that brings out the local Tica starlets who love to sing and dance to Salsa, Meringue and Chumbia. Friday nights there's ablues band with a funny name of Mouse in the Toaster! Saturday nights they have a classic rock band called BenJammin' and the Howlers! And Sunday night's close out the week with the live Latin music show of Scott and Allysa. Sound like we won't even need to leave the hotel!
