Covenant Prescription for Progress: Divine Direction

In the journey of life, it is important to note that man's progress is not primarily a function of his strength but of strategies, the principal of which is divine direction. It is not all motion that equals progress. Also, it is not everyone that is working and busy doing one thing or the other that is making progress.

Firstly, what is this direction? Simply put, it is a set of information or instruction on what to do, where to go and how to do something. The importance of direction is to eliminate sweat, and achieve quick and lasting result and progress.

It is a form of anointing, because, just as the anointing paves way for you in your endeavours and pursuits, similarly when you are divinely directed, God goes ahead to make your way straight. When God is the one leading you, He backs you up until satisfactory progress is achieved.

Why divine direction?

1. The Futility of Labour: We must also get to know the futility of labour. Man's labour alone cannot yield him maximum result. Unless you are divinely guided to do the right things at the right time, whatever you called success has no guaranteed because it is like a house that is build on a sandy ground. Every little win or rain will destroy it and great will be its destruction. What will take others years of hard labour to achieved can be easily realized just with little or no stress at all.

2. Waiting is not wasting as long as you are waiting on the Lord to hear His voice on the right steps to take. It is being said that the bird eagle triumphs in the air more than all other birds just by waiting and observing the current of the wind. So, while other birds flap to gain acceleration, eagles just open its wings in the direction of the wind and with no stress soars.

3. Hearing from God and adhering to his instructions as they relates to your business, career, ministry, marriage, education etc, count a lot if you want to see evidential and sustained progress in life.

When you are directed, you do things beyond your natural abilities. Direction gives you spiritual advantage over everything around you. It does not matter what you have been doing or how you have been doing and how long you being it, if God tells you otherwise, just obey and promptly act accordingly. Prompt actions pays so much.

Finally, the cure to shame, business stagnation and confusion is in turning in the right direction. (Deut. 2: 3; Gen. 21: 17 19).
