Covering Over The Cracks In The Economy With Cheap Tiles

, however investing in the housing market is probably the most secure form of investment on the market today.

If you have the money now would be the time to invest in one or two properties. The market has bottomed out and the only way it can go from there is up. It may take several years but the market will recover and when it does, that is when you will reap the rewards.

The problem is what to do with the spare property you purchased. I purchased one at auction that needed a great deal of renovation work performed on it. The bathroom and kitchen were both in need of modernisation, and the first job was the removal of all the old broken tiles from the walls.

The tiles were that rotten that it became a simple job of prizing them off with a chisel blade, it was when I was halfway through this process I started to question if I had bitten off more than I could chew. As they continued to fall into the bin all I could now focus on was the rising cost of this additional property that was supposed to be my nest egg.

Eventually, thanks to the help of some friends who offered to help for a cup of tea and a takeaway, we finished all the work and the walls were ready to be covered. I decided to keep tiles in the bathroom and kitchen as it made it easy to clean.

I got online and browsed for a company that could supply me with some new tiles and found a company close to home that had an offer on, so I popped down to take a closer look. After speaking to the sales representative we decided on what would be best for the bathroom and kitchen and got down to the serious business of discussing the price.

Thankfully, my years of experience at haggling paid off at this point and I managed to strike what I thought was a very good price and obviously it was beneficial for the company as the sales representative decided to go for it.

I got back to the house and began working on the bathroom and kitchen; the new tiles went up without a hitch and breathed a breath of fresh air into the rooms. After installation of a new kitchen and bathroom set and with a lick of paint to the other rooms the house was ready.

Obviously the market has recovered yet, but it doesn't matter, at present the house is rented out making enough money to clear the mortgage payment every month and when the market does recover, I'll be able to sell the house and reap the rewards from all my hard work.
