. Hypnosis is an art and a science that revolves around the power of suggestion to change people's actions and emotions. Essentially, what hypnosis does is cause an altered state of mind in a person, and their altered state of mind causes them to become for suggestible so that a hypnotist can create positive change through the vehicle of suggestion.

So, since hypnosis merely creates an altered state of mind, and since persuasion revolves around the power of suggestion, persuasion can be practiced in many different ways as a tool to alter people's behavior. For these reasons, hypnosis is used both in the art of persuasion and in therapy.

The form of hypnosis that is used for the power of persuasion is known as covert hypnosis. Like any other kind of hypnosis, covert hypnosis utilizes the art of suggestion to give you reliable results. However, because this kind of hypnosis is covert, the suggestions that you will be planting in people's minds will be much more indirect than the suggestions that are installed in people's minds through therapeutic hypnosis.

Covert hypnosis also utilizes all types of suggestion. This means that covert persuasion uses non verbal suggestions just as much if not even more than it makes use of verbal suggestions. There is nothing as covert and under the radar as being able to suggest things to other people without needing to actually say something to them.

Even the verbal kinds of suggestion that covert hypnosis uses are extremely tricky for a person to notice. So, instead of saying something to somebody directly, you will be saying it to them indirectly to the point where it will not be evident to the person whom you are speaking to that you are actually suggesting to them that they do something that you want them to do. This is why covert persuasion is perfect to integrate into the art of mind control, because you can modify people's emotions and decision making processes without them being conscious of it. This means it is unlikely anyone will attempt to resist you because they will not suspect that there are any suggestions for them to resist.

Another covert hypnosis technique that can be used is to control social environments. The more power you have over a class system or group, the more it will appear to others that you are a likable person and authority figure. When you appear to other people as an authority figure, your social value increases to the point where people become far more suggestible so that you can get what you want from them.
