There are more and more people who prefer working from home instead of commuting to a day job

, and this is why they tend to convert one of their spare rooms into a comfortable and spacious home office. Of course one of the main concerns of anyone starting a home based business is how much money in spent in the process.

Added to that we have the issue of space. Some homes have larger rooms, while some apartments have really tiny rooms, so converting them will take some dedication and imagination, particularly when there is not enough space to put everything in itthat a real office should have. No matter what, you do have to work with the space you have available, and you need to have the absolute minimum that you can get away with.

When it comes to the actual room decor, a home office doesn't really need much. The walls should be clean and in a nice light color, as the office needs to have plenty of light for working with the computer. Also this will make the room more comfortable and more relaxing to be in for the entire day. Some people like to add stencils or wallpapers to decorate their walls with, others prefer having the walls simply white or in a light, pastel color.

As to adding proper officefurniture, there are many choices you can go for. At a minimum you need a computer desk, a table (the two can be one actually), a white desk chair and possibly a table for the printer, scanner and other office equipment. If you have extra space and funds, you can get yourself a wall cabinet and drawers as well. Avoid cramming your office with many things as you won't have much place to walk around and you will be bumping your knees all over the place.

When it comes to the comfort of your home office furniture, make sure that you get good quality tables and chairs. Particularly the chair should be comfortable as you will be sitting in it for many hours every day. Whether you go for a chair with armrest or armless office chairs, it really depends on your needs. If you find yourself getting up from the chair too often, then get one without arms but with wheels on the legs so you can really move around with ease.
