Create Your Own Pizza - The Ideal Party Planning Meal

Skip the catering and consider pizza as the main course for your next party

. Instead of slaving away in the kitchen to prepare the meal for your guests, let them take over the responsibility themselves. You provide the ingredients and maybe a few suggestions and let everyone else do the rest. Make a list of ingredients to take to the store and consider letting your guests bring a few of their own.

Setting the Table

While a pizza buffet may take a little extra prep time, it will be well worth it as you mingle with your guests and enjoy your time outside of the kitchen. Take your list of ingredients to the store and don't forget the dough, sauce and cheese. From there, any other toppings that you can imagine can be added to the cart.

Before your guests arrive, set up the table. At one end, begins with the dough. To save time, you may want to make smaller pie to save on the time it takes to cook. From there, sauce should be next. Be sure to leave out a ladle to make it easy to spread over the crust. Cheese needs to be next but from there, lay out all of the other possibilities. Guests can move around the table adding different things to the pizzas.

Timing is Everything

It might be difficult if everyone is making their meal at the same time. Consider encouraging your guests to get started as soon as they walk through the door. Most of the time people trickle in over the course of several minutes or even hours. In order to keep things flowing smoothly, guests can immediately begin working on their meal. This makes it easy to keep the oven going without backing up the line of hungry guests.

Make It Fun

Most guests will enjoy the experience of making their own customized pizza. While moving along the table, they may be chatting with other guests about their toppings. It keeps things fun and everyone is interacting in a unique way. If you do encourage your guests to bring their own toppings, you may find that everyone is working to make the most delicious or the most unusual entre imaginable.

The next time that you plan to get friends or family together, skip over all the hard work of preparing a full meal. Pick up your dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. Leave them all out for guests to handle on their own and sit back as you watch everyone enjoy making their own pizza. If things go well, you might consider this method of meal planning for your family. Usually there is no way to make everyone happy when it comes to preparing a meal. This buffet is an exception to the rule.
