Create baseball memories
When I was a kid and played little league baseball, I must admit I was pretty good. I played second base and short stop which I think are two of the best infield positions to play because they see a lot of action. On a few occasions I was the pitcher or the catcher. I loved to play these positions and it was a lot of fun. But the thing I can remember like it was yesterday is the first time I hit the ball in a game. I hit a double! What I remember most is the actual seconds before I hit the ball. It was like slow motion. Time slowed down, I swung, the bat connected, and the ball got hammered just right of center field. It felt great and is still a great memory for me today. The reason I bring this up is that coaches put a lot of practice into throwing and catching and playing infield or outfield which is important. But the real glory and the memory kids hold on to, is being the hero who hit the home run. That's why batting practice is so important.
There are many hitting practice items out there today. I believe all have their benefits and are great to help kids learn how to hit. But, there is one that I think should be a standard in any little leaguers home. That item is the Heater Home Ball Field.
The reason I like the Heater Home ball field is that it is there for kid at any time of the day to practice hitting. Also it functions as an adjustable rebounder as well so kids can practice other skills as well. This all-in-one backyard trainer is so convenient it's like bringing the ball field home to you.
Here's how it works . . .
Choose between either the baseball or softball attachment. On the hitting side you adjust the ball to the correct height, grab a bat and start hitting. The ball is captured in the netting and swings back to you for another hit, over and over again. You can hit the ball when it's moving simulating a pitch or stationary to practice stance and swing technique.
With the rebounder on the other side of the unit you can adjust the angle to pitch back to you, return grounders, or return pop-flys. The strong 1.25" tubular steel frame keeps the Ball Field in place and also folds flat for easy storage.
Having fun and making memories is what it's all about. If your kid gets just one hit all the time and effort will be worth it. It may just be one of those memories they hold onto forever.
