Create your own story

There is an expression, everyone has a book that they could write'

. This is true but not everyone wishes to. To start writing your own book you must first wish to, then this desire will open up your belief in yourself and that is what gets you started. It really is very simple. Take the woman who cooks very well and wants to share her recipes with others. Now she could just write them down and pass them along, yet with a little thought she could add a little information here, a thought there and voila' a book is cooked'.

I started eight years ago with a new exercise book, a new pen and then a good seat to sit upon. Needless to say you must have the time to sit and write but if you want to create your masterpiece you will find the time.

Nowadays I turn the computer on, select a new document having already decided on the title, then off I go and once more the words tumble from my finger tips to the computer keys and again we are in the creative realm of imagination.

I do not know if this will help others for I am quite capable of writing with music playing, my husband watching the TV which is audible to me, and with the world rushing past. As of yet I have not gone away to a silent beach-house to write and I have still produced five books. But the idea is good; maybe I should think upon it.

We are all individuals with our own needs for an artistic project, for some peace and quiet is essential for me it is not a requirement but the thought of a nice holiday by the ocean is rather tempting I must say.

When your baby is born....you have finished your manuscript...you need advice from those within the publishing arena. An editor is essential especially if like me you lack the knowledge of the restrictions of the grammatical rules. Most publishers require that you go through a manuscript appraisal' company. This of course is a good idea however, if your subject is not in agreement with the intellectual acceptance of the one reading your manuscript then there could be the problem of not understanding what you are writing about. Also there is the difference of belief that comes into the scenario. I recently was rejected by a publishing company due to the person in charge having a different religious belief to my own.

Advice about page setting and layout is required but this usually comes with the publishing deal be it the self publishing route or with the involvement of a contract with a known publishing company.

Advice from friends is not ideal due to your friends wanting you to be a success and not being honest with you. Again it could be that the friends are not that good as friends and they do not wish you to be a success. Keep friends out of it unless of course you are lucky that they are either an editor or publisher. Now that would be good.

If I had to share a secret about becoming an author it would be believe that you can, write because you want to share your knowledge, or you wish to make people smile. Write because it is important to you. If those are your intentions then there is greater chance for you to be successful and to follow your dreams through to creating a masterpiece. Write as if you are talking to one person rather like a radio presenter who speaks through the microphone to an audience of millions but introduces his subject as if he were sitting across the table from one person who is interested. The same works for literature, for a novel, feel the intimacy and away you go bringing the one or million into your story.

I have chosen to open my life up to a new opportunity and with that comes also the desire to share what I am now doing with all who are interested. Due to this desire, this excitement of communicating with the thousands who are interested, it has been necessary for me to make myself available through a website and social media.
