Cross Training is One of Best Ways to Lose Weight
A weighting scale is not necessarily the most reliable indicator of how healthy your body is
. The composition of the body tissue is far more reliable than the numbers on the scale. Men are overweight if their fatty tissue is over 14-15% of their body mass, while the fat tissue in women can represent up to 20-22% of their total body mass. Everyone has certain amounts of fat but any excess it increases the risk of diabetes, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, gout and gallbladder problems.
Losing weight should not be focused on lowering the numbers on the weighting scale but on losing the excess fat. Everyone who is trying to lose weight should therefore concentrate on what they see in the mirror and not to focus on the body weight alone. It may be very helpful to view the body in the basic principles of energy physics and start counting calories. The calories are transformed into energy which, according to the laws of physics are changed if not used. This means that each 3,500 unused calories are transformed into one pound of fat and in order to lose a single pound one needs to burn 3,500 calories.
Exercise is the next best thing when it comes to losing weight but this does not necessarily mean hours of long and hard exertion. In the contrary you should not try to lose fat by pushing yourself beyond your limits. The reason for that lays in fact that people who push themselves too hard or beyond their capacities tend to get bored very easily, give up regular exercise and ending up with a bag of chips feeling sorry for themselves.. Luckily, there is solution: cross training.
Cross training is a type of exercise which involves different activities and incorporating different movements into the exercise routine in order to overcome or prevent boredom and monotony which are the main reasons why so many people give up exercising. There are many different combinations that are used in cross training but most common are swimming, cycling and running in which the distance extends as the person's condition improves.
Cross training is a fun type of exercise and an effective way of losing fat. In addition, it offers a variety of benefits for overall health and well-being by promoting heart health, improving lung capacity, enhancing blood vessel function and relieving stress not to mentioned making weight loss more bearable.
