CSU's football team will wear white jerseys and white pants for its Oct

. 15 home game against Boise State as part of a "whiteout" promotion, school officials said Tuesday.Colorado State University is partnering with Poudre Valley Health System in an effort to "white-out" the stadium and, ultimately, white-out cancer, school officials said in a news release issued this afternoon.Fans are being asked to wear white to the game, and the first 5,000 through the Gates at Hughes Stadium on game day will receive white Wholesale jerseys, provided by PVHS and The mtn., the television network broadcasting the game. Each shirt contains a blank, allowing fans to write in the name of an individual affected bycancer. Markers to fill in the blank will be available throughout the stadium. PVHS also will distribute 5,000 white placards to fans entering the stadium, who will be asked to hold them up at a certain point during the game."Part of this is an acknowledgement of our strong partnership with Poudre Valley Health System and the fact that cancer affects so many of our lives, whether it be directly and personally or indirectly," said CSU athletic director Paul Kowalczyk, who successfully battled prostate cancer.

"This game is an excellent avenue to promote the event because of the expectation of crowd size."PVHS, Kowalczyk said, is the biggest sponsor financially of CSU's athletic programs.As a result, Boise State can wear the all-blue uniforms it has been prohibited at home for MW games, if it so chooses. Boise State officials could not be reached Tuesday afternoon to find out what colors they'd wear at CSU. Boise State agreed, as a condition of its admission into the MW, that it would not wear its traditional all-blue Wholesale nfl jerseys, pants and helmets - for conference games on the blue artificial-turf surface of its home stadium.Also involved in the "whiteout" promotion is RamStrength, an organization established in 2006 when cancer struck the family of former football coach Sonny Lubick. RamStrength provided financial assistance for local cancer survivors and their families to help them with basic needs.
