Cuisinart Company History:
The Cuisinart Corporation is a well known and respected manufacturer of small kitchen appliances. Although it is best known for its food processors, Cuisinart expanded its product line to include coffee makers, hand mixers, toasters, hand blenders etc.
Cuisinart has built itself over the years a great quality brand with great quality products such as the Cuisinart DCC 1200 that command higher pricing than its competitors.
Inception
Carl and Shirley Sontheimer Founded Cuisinart in 1971.
In 1971 they entrepreneurial couple thought they could make a far better food processing product than was already out there in the market place and so through trial and error they happened upon their very own food processor which was manufactured by Robot-Coupe. The Sontheimer's food processor was launched at the National Housewares Exposition of 1973 in Chicago, Illinois. It was a great success!
Building a Better Quality Food Processor
Sontheimer continued tinkering and refining his food processor throughout the 70's. Carl's improvements to the processors disks & blades made it possible to mix puff shell dough in just 15 seconds or to even chop up a pound of meat in less than 60 seconds, which was an astonishing achievement for its day.
The refinements Sontheimer made not only decreased food preparation time significantly, but also made cleanup much easier as well which is a relief to any one out there who hates the clean up!
Anniversary Time
The year of 1996 marked Cuisinart's 25th anniversary. To acknowledge this great event and achievement Cuisinart went for a new strap line which was "Your Kitchen Resource".
