Curling Your Hair With A Curling Iron

Cant wait to obtain a full head of beautiful, bouncing curls

? First, learn how to create them, following these extra easy steps to enjoy shapely, shiny curls and becoming the center of attention everywhere you go. Ready? Here we go:

You will need:

A good quality curling iron

Thermal protectant

A comb

Finishing spray

1. First of all, apply a thermal protectant to your hair to act as a safeguard between your hair and the hot barrel. Comb your hair to work out the tangles and to distribute the protectant properly. Your hair should be completely dry.

2. Turn on the curling iron and select a lock of your hair. If you own a spring curling iron, open the clip and clamp it over a lock of hair thats roughly half an inch in thickness. Do this as close to the root as possible, or if you prefer, along the middle if you want the curls to start lower. Slide the curling iron down to the ends of your hair, but dont allow it to slide off completely.

3. Curl your hair in the direction you prefer, inwards or outwards, continuing until you reach the top, or middle, holding it there for 10 seconds. Gently start to uncurl your hair until youre able to unclamp the clip of the iron without your hair keeping is closed. The slower you do this, the longer the curl will hold. Ease the curling iron out of your hair.

4. You can create different kinds of curls once youve dominated the technique, big, fat curls using thicker sections of hair, or thinner, shapely ringlets using narrower locks. Another option is long, flowing waves, which involves the same method for curling with only subtle differences in the width of sections and the time spend on each one.

5. Pin up the newly created curl with a clip or bobby pin to keep it in place and only let it down when it has completely cooled. Doing so will ensure that the curls shape will be set. This is optional, if you have the time, try it out and observe the results.

6. Repeat all the steps with the rest of your hair. Lastly, use your fingers to tousle the curls and make them look more natural. Finish off with a light application of spray will help keep the curls in place.
