Step one : Get the bike in a position such that the rear wheel is off the ground. Ensure the motorcycle is stable. But , before you do that mark the position of the adjuster so you can place the axel back in it's original position. Step four : remove the chain or belt by sliding the wheel forward.
Some axels may have extra support in place by the employment of pinch bolts. Step six : Slide the motorcycle axel out. Step seven : ensure you keep and store in a safe contained location all of the spacers, nuts, washers and bearings. They should be placed back in the same place back on the bike so the wheel doesn't wobble after replacement. Removing the front motorbike wheel is even simpler than the rear.
Step one : remove the speedometer wire. Step 2 : remove the spindle by removing the end caps on the bottom of the forks. Step three : once you finish step 2 the wheel should just fall to the ground. Tip : Some motorcycles might require you to get rid of the axel all together by sliding it out after removal of the axel bolts.
REMOVING TIRES
Take away the wheel from the bike. Break the bead of the tire away from the edge using either your bead breaker or a gluing clamp. Position the wheel on a holding device such as a 20 gallon drum or tire changing stand. Pull the tire as far to the side as practicable by pushing the 2 tire beads on the other side together and making them go down into the narrowest part of the rim. Pry the bead over the near edge of the rim.
Pull the first smooth out and move it to the other side of the second or if you've a third iron place it three to four inches from the second iron and roll more of the bead over the edge. Keep going until you work your way completely round the tire. On tubeless tires remove the valve stem. Clean the within the edge. Inspect the bearings, wheel etc . Install a new tube or valve stem depending on the kind of tire you are working with.
Lubricate both beads of the tire with wheel mounting fluid. Use mounting liquid not soap. Identify the correct revolution of the tire. Install the valve stem if you're working with a tubeless tire. Locate the yellow dot on the tire. This is the lightest part of the tire. The yellow spot should line up with the valve stem. Beginning at the valve stem push the maximum amount of the bottom bead over the wheel as you can without using the irons. Carefully pry the remainder of the bead over the fringe of the edge. If you are working with a tube type tire install the tube. Put a very small amount of air in the tube. Confirm the tube isn't twisted. Repeat the operation with the other bead beginning 180 degrees from the valve stem.
