Cyber-bullying is to repeatedly hurt someone by using technology

. So instead of whispering a rumor to a friend, a bully might e-mail or IM that rumor or even post it on the internet so everyone to see! or the bully might use technology to ignore you. Many teens today, especially girls, use technology to bully people .In fact a study shows that twice as many girls as boy has bullied someone online. Cyber bullying can happen day or night. Images and messages from cyber bullying can be distributed quickly o a very good audience. Kids can be anonymous when cyber bullying, which makes it difficult (sometimes impossible) to trace them. Cyber bullying is an electronic message sent or posted with deliberate repeated and hostile behavior by an individual or group that is intended to harm others. Cyber bully is when a child is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or targeted by another child using the Internet, mobile phone, or other type of digital technology. It has to be a child on both sides. If it is an adult, it is not considered cyber bullying and is called cyber-harassment or cyber stalking and is a very serious crime.Cyber bullying is very serious also, but it doesn't always break the law. Sometimes it does break the law, and even when it doesn't, it is definitely wrong and children do usually get in trouble with parents or school. Cyber bullying is bullying through email, instant messaging (IMing), chat room exchanges, Web site posts, or digital messages or images send to a cellular phone or personal digital assistant (PDA) (Kowalski et al. 2008). Cyber bullying, like traditional bullying, involves an imbalance of power, aggression,and a negative action that is often repeated. Stealing an individual's name and password to a social networking site, and then using their profile to post rumors, gossip or other damaging information. Altering photographs using PhotoShop or other photo editing software in order to humiliate the individual. Take cyber bullying seriously so that your child does not fall victim, or bully others. Make your child aware that cyber bullying is unacceptable and if they are the target they should tell an adult right away. Taking action quickly is the best way to stop cyber bullying before it gets out of hand.
