Some cyber bullies may also send threatening and harassing emails and instant messages to the victims while others post rumors to mentally torture their targets.

Boys are said to start this menace online as early as in 2nd grade, while girls involve themselves in this anti-social activity by the time they reach middle school. However, their intention remains the same; to harass, intimidate or threaten others while online. In a research finding, it is stated that older youth use the Internet more frequently and are more likely to experience cyber bullying than younger children.

Social media sites are generally useful where the kids socialize and connect with each other online through their computers and but if it moves in the wrong direction, like cyber bullying, it is definitely a serious sign of despair and concern. Though computer usage has emerged as mushrooms and have spread globally, the parents should monitor and limit its usage by kids.
