Dnia is a lovely town lying 7 kilometers at north of Javea; it offers spectacular scenery on the winding Montgo Mountain road.

Beautiful Beaches

Dnia has splendid beaches that are an awesome sight to behold and a historical centre comprising a majestic castle rising in the midst of town. The magnificent mountain itself, Mount Montg, has been declared a Natural Park reserve lying barely a few meters away from the ocean with fishing boats frolicking in and out of the bay, marking the lifestyle of Dnia. The sea also provides some of the best of its catch for a sumptuous seafood cuisine; thus the town is growing in popularity as a cuisine haven. There are lots of things to do and to discover in Denia, such as a refreshing stroll up to the castle, the museum, Nature Park, old churches and ancient sections of the town.

Its moderate temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius makes this resort a very attractive tourist destination with a charming old town that offers great food in its local restaurants. Its beaches stretch many kilometers northwards; it has a population of 30,000. Dnia is driven not just by tourism, but also by the fishing industry, as it has one of the most significant harbors and a matching fishing fleet to its glory. It also provides ferry connections plying Mallorca and Ibiza, providing an advantage over the years.

Tourist Information

It is easy and stress-free to get around Dnia; a tourist center is available to give you the necessary guides to the town's sights, such as a map and tourist information. All the places of interests are noted clearly on the town map and there is even a train that shuttles you to the town castle from this center. There are many charming restaurants near the port that serve special local rice dishes, while Fideua is more renowned for its noodle-based paella.

Sights in Dnia

One can begin a sightseeing itinerary from the town hall, locally known as the ayuntamiento, and move on to the ancient church of Iglesia de la Asuncion that displays a wonderful ancient dome. Further along you will be able to visit the ancient castle of Dnia, which overlooks the stunning Dnia Bay. This Castillo was built sometime during the 11th 12th century and gives a breath-taking view of the city and surrounding glistening sea. Inside the castle grounds stand the Palau del Governador and the interesting Museo Etnologico that houses the town's rich history and culture.
