DIY Woodworking Part 2 of 3 - Tools you MUST to have for your woodworking projects

In our first part of this DIY woodworking guide you learnt how to choose wood for our woodworking projects. In this part 2 you will learn what are the things that should be in your toolbox before you start doing woodworking yourself.

Tools for your mind box

Yes, I said it mind box NOT toolbox. Woodworking involves physical work with hard equipments that may cause injuries when misused. You should always make sure that you wear a pair of shoe made of hard leather and wear large spectacles to prevent wood chunks from damaging your eyes. These are not the only precautions you need to take. Precautions also mean that you don't want your hard works go wasted with a poor woodworking plan. You can load a ton of very well explained with graphical illustrations by having a professionally written ebook like Ted's woodworking plans and projects. (Do you believe it has 16,000 plans !)

Basic woodworking tools

Okay enough of warnings and resources lets get into tools and machineries. If you are involved in doing any light woodwork's like toys, kitchen appliances etc. you can cut the cost of buying tools. However tools like Hammer, saw, chisels are must to start any woodworking project.

Power Tools:

Looking to repair or create a large woodworking project make sure you have these tools bought.

i) Power Drill:

While buying Power drill decide what sort of drill you would like be it cord or portable, depending on where you will use it. The inch of an power drill varies from 1/4-, 3/8- or 1/2.

ii) Table saw:

I personally prefer rip variety of table saw as it gives more comfort to work with. It is great for cutting joints with a smooth cut and best when there is use of glue sander.

Now you have the three tools required to start any DIY woodworking project . First,

proper safety precaution and good collection of professionally designed woodworking plans. Second, basic woodworking tools like hammer, saw, chisels. Finally, power tools like power drill, table saw. In our 3rd and final part of this series about DIY woodworking you will learn about how to varnish your wood works to protect it from dust at the same time making it beautiful and shinier.
