The first thing you should do is to check whether the cables that are connected to the router, modem and your PC are properly connected or not. In many cases, a loosened cable causes all this mischief. Just connect everything properly and reset the connection properly. And then switch off and disconnect the router and reconnect and switch it on again.

You should also release and renew IP addresses. To perform this task, go to Start menu and click on Run. In the dialog box type in cmd and check out the IP address field. Now type in ipconfig /release in the command prompt window and hit ENTER. You need to wait for some moments and all the lines will appear automatically and the cursor flashes. Type in ipconfig /renew, and press ENTER and close the window.

You can also set DNS statically. Go to Control Panel, then Network and Internet, then Internet Options, Connections, and then Settings. The same could be accessed by clicking on the Tools menu on your browser's menu bar and then going to Internet Options. Select the Connections tab there and go to Settings therein. In Settings, type in the proxy DNS value and it should be given by your Internet service provider. Exit the tab and press the refresh button. The problem will be fixed.
