DTH (Direct-to-home) Services in India, is now booming the entire television market because of its Digital Picture quality provided at low rates. DTH in India is getting popular. Analysts assumed that the DTH Market in India will soon reach the target of 28 million DTH subscribers in India. Industry and A DTH network consists of a broadcasting centre, satellites, encoders, multiplexers, modulators and DTH receivers. The Digital signal is directly received from the satellite to the dish antenna, which reduces the distortion of the channels. DTH India offers better quality picture than cable TV. This is because cable TV in India is analog. Despite digital transmission and reception, the cable transmission is still analog. DTH offers stereophonic sound effects. It can also reach remote areas where terrestrial transmission and cable TV have failed to connect. If the subscriber moves out of the town than they have to pay nothing to the DTH Providers, they just have to disconnect the connection, and again they can resume that by recharging their DTH account. During the monsoon, the cable networks get disrupted but the DTH network gets affected only for few minutes and then again it gets resumed.

This resulted in a great competition in the DTH market in India, providing maximum services at minimum rate. The Current DTH providers in India are Videocon D2H(Direct-2-Home, Tata Sky DTH, Airtel Digital TV, Sun Direct DTH, Dish TV, Reliance Big TV. With the expansion of the DTH market the new technologies of High Definition (HD) is introduced in India. The HD service gives an excellent output with MPEG4 Quality and now most of the providers also provide the Dolby digital sound format which gives the theater effect. Sun Direct DTH was the first provider providing the HD service in India. Later, it was followed by the other providers i.e. Tata Sky HD, Airtel Digital HD, Sun Direct HD, Dish TRU HD, Reliance BIG TV HD. Later the new technology of the recorder is introduced, in which the subscribers can record the current running channel on television and is enabled to watch it later.

In DTH Connection, the payment will be made by the subscribers to the DTH provider offering the services. The Dth providers offers Digital Broadcast, Interactive services in which the kids can play games, or learn their lessons, Radio Channels, Universal remote which works on both i.e. TV and Set top box.

DTH Network in India helped the subscribers to view the quality of picture which they failed to view from the Cable Network.
