Dallas Cowboys Tickets - Cowboys Plot Early Comeback

Before the season starts, analysts work hard to create a list of power rankings of who are the most likely teams to dominate the league

. One team that frequently landed on the top of those lists in the preseason was the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys had been looking increasingly like a well-oiled football machine, getting them ranked near such powerhouses as the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. Like in other years, fans snatched up Dallas Cowboys tickets to catch the action, but what has happened is not what anyone anticipated.

In Week One, the Cowboys faced off against the Washington Redskins and were handed a 13-7 loss. What perhaps hurt the Cowboys the most were their numerous penalties. They had 12 penalties for 81 yards in the game, including one at the end that stole the win out of their hands. Conversely, the Redskins had five penalties for 42 yards. Even with that loss, there were some bright spots. Quarterback Tony Romo was 31 of 47 for 282 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions, and Miles Austin had 10 receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown.

Going into Week Two, the Cowboys were favorites during their first home game of the season hosting the Chicago Bears. Instead, the Cowboys suffered their second loss, this one 27-20. The Cowboys held on and stayed within striking distance for most of the game, but the Bears' defense delivered one forced fumble and two interceptions, hurting their momentum. Even with the loss, Austin again had a standout game, tallying 10 receptions and 142 yards. Penalties were also a problem again for the Cowboys, with six penalties for 50 yards. Another turning point in the game came when David Buehler missed a 44-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, which would have tied the game at 20.

In response to the unexpected start-the team's first 0-2 start since 2001-the Cowboys held a players-only meeting. The players had mixed reactions to talking about their slow start, but most understood that something had to be done.

According to ESPN, defensive end Igor Olshansky thought the meeting was necessary, while safety Gerald Sensabaugh thought the solution was on the field, not in a meeting. Backup quarterback Jon Kitna also weighed in and said, "It's an urgent situation; 0-2 is an urgent situation. I don't think there is any overreactions. I think every feeling is legitimate that each individual has, so all sides need to be respected. When it comes down to it, it's an urgent situation."

In the midst of the losses, the Cowboys are also dealing with injuries. They have lost fullback Deon Anderson for two to four weeks because of a left knee injury that required surgery. Tight end Jason Witten and cornerback Mike Jenkins suffered injuries during the game against the Bears -Witten with a head injury and Jenkins with a knee injury-but both are expected not to miss any games because of the injuries. Should their roster stay relatively intact, the Cowboys have every weapon needed to turn around their season.
