Dallas SEO Gives the 5 Don'ts of Social Media
Social Media is great for building relationships and business. It is great for getting instant feedback. But what are the Big Donts in Social Media? I want to give you 5 things you should never do when using Social Media.
1. Never self promote too much. People get bombarded by advertisements are the time. They are on TV, radio, Pandora, Google, YouTube, Facebook and many other social media networks. I mean they are everywhere and people are tired of hearing about what you have to offer all the time. So my advice to you is to self-promote your products or services 20% of your posts.
2. Never NOT add value to your community. So if you are only to self promote just 20% of the time what in the world do you do with the other 80% of the time. Add value. Whatever your niche is post valuable third party content. Post links to blogs that you wrote that has some really useful information that can help you customer or inform them of the current status of your industry. Another thing you can post is personal things. Let people know you are a real human.
3. Never lie about something or make yourself seem bigger than you really are. Social Media has changed the business landscape making it more transparent than ever. If you are promoting something you cannot live up to or bragging about an incident that has never taken place I can assure you the world will know about it and it will not turn out good for you. Do business with honesty and integrity and your business will soar!
4. Never broadcast a message out to your tribe and call it good for the day. Be engaged in the community. The online community functions just like a real community such as a Chamber of Commerce. It doesnt do you any good to just join the Chamber of Commerce but not become active and build true long lasting relationships. The online community functions the same way. Get involved, join the conversation and build true long lasting relationships.
5. Never have 5,000 friends on Facebook and not know who everyone is. It doesnt do you any good to have a ton of friends and at the end of the day not have any relationships. Remember, people do business with people they like, know and trust. Use Social Media to help you do just that. Do you go to a networking event, hand ever single person in attendance your business card and leave? Of course not! Because you know that wouldnt do you any good. It would just cost you money. Then dont do that online. Talk to people, engage them, build relationships as you would at a Networking event you would attend in the flesh.
I hope knowing the 5 Big Don'ts in Social Media Marketing will help you. If you have any questions or you would like a FREE Website Analysis just TEXT your name and email address to 903.200.9933.
