Dancing with the Stars returns for Season 11

Dancing with the Stars is the hit ABC reality television series

. It is based on the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. Dancing with the Stars has been on the air since the summer of 2005. The next season of the show, season 11, begins on September 20, 2010. In Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars twelve new celebrities will compete against each other in Ballroom and Latin style dances. In previous seasons of the show there have been other styles and types of dances that have been performed. Season after season there are ten dances that viewers are sure to see during the course of the season. Those dances are:

Waltz

Viennese Waltz

Tango

Foxtrot

Quickstep

Cha Cha

Rumba

Paso Doble

Jive

Samba

Some of the other dances fans might see during the course of Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars include the Charleston, the Argentine Tango, the Lindy, the Hustle, the Lambada, and Salsa.

As mentioned above, twelve celebrities have joined the cast for Season 11. They are: Singer and songwriter Michael Bolton. He will be dancing with professional partner Chelsie Hightower.

R&B singer and actress Brandy. She is going to be partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy this season.

Actress, comedienne and author Margaret Cho. Cho will be competing with professional dancer Louis van Amstel.

Retired NBA star Rick Fox. He is competing with former Dancing with the Stars champion Cheryl Burke.

Actress Jennifer Grey. Grey is going to be partnered with defending Dancing with the Stars professional Derek Hough.

Actor David Hasselhoff. He is going to be dancing with former champion Kym Johnson.

Television legend Florence Henderson. She will be dancing with Corky Ballas.

Disney Channel star Kyle Massey. Kyle is dancing with Lacey Schwimmer.

Public figure Bristol Palin. Palin is paired up with former Dancing with the Stars champion Mark Ballas. (Mark is the son of fellow professional dancer Corky Ballas.)

Reality television figure Audrina Patridge. She will be competing with Dancing with the Stars professional Tony Dovoloni.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. The Situation is partnered with Karina Smirnoff.

Kurt Warner. Warner is paired up with last season's runner up Anna Trebunskaya.

For the first time during the run of the show professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska will not be on the show. This is a disappointment for many fans. She has stated that her reason for not returning to the show is to pursue her education and other endeavors.
