Darragh Macanthony Wants It To Be Known That Peterborough United Is Not A Selling Club

Peterborough United chairman Darragh Macanthony has issued a 'hands-off' warning to the Premiership predators currently hunting the club's young stars

Darragh Macanthony has pledged that Craig Mackail-Smith, George Boyd and Aaron Mclean will all be starring at London Road again next season.

Darragh MacAnthony is aware that Mackail-Smith in particular has been attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the country, but there will be no summer sales.

Mackail-Smith has caught the eye during a run of four goals in his last six matches. He was again linked with Premiership hopefuls Sunderland.

But Darragh Macanthony said: "There are scouts sitting in our stands at every match looking at our players which is no surprise considering some of the talent in our squad.

"I keep telling these scouts to go home as we are not a selling club. Indeed we intend to add to the squad rather than take away from it.

"Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron Mclean will terrify defences when they start playing together and players like those two are the future of our club. They will help us rise through the leagues.

"On current form 1 million would not buy Mackail-Smith's boots so I would like to state in capital letters that there is no chance of him leaving.

"There is still plenty to play for this season and I wouldn't miss the games at the weekend for the world. We need six points big time this weekend."

Darragh Macanthony also revealed that plans for the new Posh stadium are currently being drawn up. It's estimated it would take 20 months to construct once a suitable plot of land has been identified.

Darragh MacAnthony is also planning two open weekends next season after a similar event last month attracted 6,000 fans.
