1) Let him choose the restaurant

If he wants to take you to a 'nice little place he knows' then by all means let him. It'll be a surprise for you and the chances are he's spent plenty of time thinking about it. 4) Wipe his chin

The mucky pup might spill some food down his chin and he wouldn't be the first man not to notice. But you can't be sitting there all night looking at a glob of soup resting in his goatee. Let's presume you don't fancy dating with a tight wad or your feminism isn't so over-zealous that the idea of a man paying doesn't appall you. If this is the case then by all means let him pay for the meal, you'll feel a lot better about it - especially if you didn't really enjoy your food! Most men have no problem in getting the bill and forking out the cash on a first date. You'll also get a chance to sneak a look at his credit card - you never know - it might be a flash one.
