With the influx of the information highway, people offer advice on anything from
how to tie your shoes to the proper way to fry an egg and everything in between. You have to use discernment when muddling through all the information and suggestions coming from every direction on dating.
Good verses bad advice will hopefully be overcome with common sense. But unfortunately, some can make the bad advice look pretty darn good If it sounds too good to be true (okay now lets say it together) it probably is. Try looking at the whole picture and step back from the situation so you are able to see clearly.
Is the advice you are getting going against everything you stand for or your beliefs Then you can classify that as bad advice. Never compromise your values or your moral standings. If your partner wants you to do something you know is wrong or you are not comfortable with, walk the other way. Do not set your principles aside for anyone. Because if they ask you to do something bad now, it will only get worse the longer you stay in a relationship.
How is your dating relationship based Is it on honesty or a series of half-truths If they cant be completely up front and completely truthful with you even about the simplest of things that my friend is leading you down a road of destruction. Their lies will not get any better, in fact they will probably become more elaborate as time goes by. Your relationship needs to be built on nothing less that total honesty. It would be a good idea to say Adios Amigos
Are they trying to change you to make you in the image they want you to have If you are happy and content being who you are, you should not have to change to fit their mold. They should love you for the person you are, not trying to change everything about you.
Have there been red flags about your dating relationship that you have just been ignoring If you are not comfortable in their presence or you get that gut feeling that something just isn't what it should be, then its time for you to step back and give the relationship another closer look. Why be with someone you aren't comfortable around or you cant trust them no further than you could throw them
