Life could be worse. I just returned from my Thailand Dental Holiday and I'm still very impressed with the experience.
After going to my dentist in Australia for over 20 years now, I thought I knew what to expect during a dental exam. Below I'll go over some of the details on how I saved thousands of dollars and I felt like a VIP.
I arrived at the Bangkok Hospital in Phuket and was taken right to the front door where a young bell boy rushed to open the door and help me with my briefcase. I was then escorted through the entrance which I can only compared to the entrance of my five star hotel. I'm already impressed and I haven't even met the man working on my teeth yet. Good start!
Inside the hospital I'm greeted by five girls and one rushes over to introduce herself. Then she leads me to a very nice lounge where we do all the paperwork and they take down my information.
Note: READ CAREFULLY! You need to read the "contract" very carefully AND be sure you understand all the fine print. What I did was have the contract emailed to me before I flew to Thailand so there would be so surprises. Don't worry though, this wasn't some crazy Thai contract. It was standard for the type of procedure that I was undergoing.
After all the forms were completed, I was escorted to the doctor's office where they check the typical blood pressure, weight, height, etc...
Then the dentist came in to introduce himself and we started our first consultation. My first impression of the doctor was a good one. Very professional, spoke English well, and he knew his stuff.
This is only the first day and I had no surprises that some might expect from traveling abroad to get dental care. Outside of the location and the superb customer service, the facility would have fit in great back in Australia.
