Day To Day Activities Leading To Back Stiffness
Back pain is a standard phenomenon and there are numerous reasons for backaches
. Well, there are some complex reasons but there are some straightforward ones too. Activities like sitting, walking and sleeping if not done in the right way can end up in serious back trouble issues.
Perhaps, the most common activity that may be a reason for back pain is walking. While walking can help give back pain relief, incorrect walking can also be the cause of the difficulty. You need to observe your posture as you walk. Make sure that you don't slump your shoulders as you walk. Also, keep your head high and don't look towards your feet. Don't over stride and try to take smaller steps. This could make sure that you are not exerting pressure on your lumbar region and help avoid sciatica.
Another activity that you will need to be watchful of to keep away from back pain is sitting. Make sure that you aren't sitting in a single posture for dull hours. If you are concerned in an inactive job and need to sit for interminable hours, consider taking little breaks in between. You may also consider practicing certain stretching exercises for sciatica. Also, ensure that you sit as straight as practicable. Keep your spine straight and shoulders erect. Using a chair that offers lower back support can also aid in avoiding discomfort.
Sleeping is another daily activity that not so many of us are watchful about. Many people sleep in the wrong posture, because of which they need to handle back trouble. Ideally, you must sleep straight with your arms parallel to your body. If you sleep sideways, then you need to bend your knees slightly. You also need to be careful about the mattress that you are using. Ideally, your mattress should neither be too hard nor too soft. While a tough mattress will hurt your back, a highly soft one will make you sink in, thus leading to poor posture and thus back trouble.
One activity that is one of the primary causes of sciatica and other kinds of back discomfort is lifting. Have you ever felt a jerk in the back when attempting to lift something heavy? If yes, then it may be due to the wrong lifting technique. You must be careful when you're lifting anything. First off you must bend in your knees and not your back when bending to lift something. Also ensure you lift heavy objects with both your hands for equal distribution of weight.
Make sure that you are way more careful in day to day life to keep your back in good condition.
