Day Trading - Everyone Learns Differently
A quick Google search for day trading courses produces a wide variety of results. Each website has its own take on what works, offering one or more of the following solutions:
An indicator usually proprietary software that automates a day trading technique or method on one's charting software.
A course in the form of written instruction, either digital or a mailed hard copy
Videos and other multimedia content including audio tapes, chart images and access to members-only content
Live training, usually group based in a trading room or other interactive setting
Most of the day trading sites produced in the top search results offer only one of these solutions, forcing traders to purchase additional products to obtain a full understanding. Depending on the type of learner a trader is, a trader is very likely to spend thousands of dollars and end up with an incomplete trading system with no guarantee of it actually working. Understandably, day trading is without guarantees, but is of my own opinion that day trading companies should back up their claims with real testimonials of actual customers. Far too often, generic written testimonials or amateur, overly charismatic actors sway opinion instead of hearing true commentary.
I must digress to discuss my experiences with other trading systems. When I first began my trading career, I purchased a scalping indicator system from a popular vendor. The software was said to be over 80% accurate and included a manual. Truth be told, the software performed decently; for a while. However, the E-Mini S&P market began to perform poorly in the last quarter of 2010 and the scalping system went down the tubes along with it. From this experience, I learned that I needed to learn a method that worked with multiple markets and wasn't software-specific.
At this point, I decided that an educational course would be my best solution. I wanted something that would fulfill my desire for consistent daily profits without the long term investing associated with trading stocks. I wanted to be in and out the same day; not holding trades for multiple days on end, subject to the world's news events. A few of the academies I found offered educational sessions to these points, however, living in a remote part of the United States prevented me from attending this type of classroom-based training. I needed something that was taught on a personal level, one-on-one where I could directly communicate to the instructor online. Also, I required a method that worked with all markets and offered more than just software.
After some thorough research, I eventually came across Day Trade to Win's Private Mentorship program. I first learned of the Private Mentorship course through the testimonial videos on YouTube and the eminieducation.com website. The daytradetowin YouTube channel has around five video testimonials from students who have participated in the course. From what I could tell, the experiences provided by the traders were genuine. They were taught personally by the founder of Day Trade To Win, John Paul. This prompted me to contact John directly to find out more about what he teaches.
I found John to by very personable, explaining in detail what is offered in the course. He said that his former students are still able to contact him even after their training to discuss recent trades. He also mentioned that the Private Mentorship course consists of eight weeks of training, is taught live (he shares his screen / chart) a couple times each week, includes all materials and software with lifetime licenses, and offers 11 methods of trading for nearly every market.
After searching for a couple days, I was elated after hearing that news. John mentioned the cost of the course, and although it was a considerable investment, I ultimately decided it was worth the cost considering the amount of money I had already lost trading (and would be subject to lose if I had continued to trade using a single technique).
My education started the following week and continued for eight weeks, twice a week. Each week, we built upon and reviewed the methods taught in the previous week. There was never a time where I felt unable to ask a question; John encouraged stopping him if there was something I did not understand. The material is all based on price action; a term I was rather unfamiliar with before the training began. Price action can be loosely defined as the real-time interpretation of a market's price and using it to trade. Each of the price action methods worked in conjunction with one another. In all, John teaches a coherent system of trading to use with any market; providing strategies to work with the most evasive market behavior.
One thing I want to make clear John Paul did not ask me to write this experience report; I did it out of my appreciation for the quality of the education he has provided me and also because of the success I've had trading John's price action techniques. I also do not want fellow traders to stumble around spending unnecessary money on incomplete trading systems. I encourage all traders, regardless of experience, to contact
Day Trade to Win to find out more about the solutions they offer, including the Private Mentorship program.
