There are not many places better to own a car dealership than Chicago, Illinois. A city with a rich heritage, it has been built up over the years by cars and the automobile industry almost as much as any city in the world. With its proximity to Detroit, Chicago in years past has been a destination for those looking to both buy and sell all sorts of cars, from the most exotic and daring to the most common and dependable. The city owes much to this history, and today is little different. Chicago is still a busting metropolis with cars at its heart. Whether one is looking to buy cars or sell them, Chicago is a city that one must consider.

As far as being a dealer is concerned, Chicago is in the perfect position. It is a central hub for the country, as evidenced by its airport and train stations. This means that people from all over the country can easily get to Chicago when looking to buy cars, so dealers have a large clientele base. They know they can attract all manner of prospective buyers, from the very rich to those just looking for the next family station wagon. This type of security is not often found elsewhere, and it makes being a dealer in Chicago a much less risky proposition than being one in other American cities, especially those on the outskirts of the country.

As far as perks go, there are a few for both buyers and sellers. One, as mentioned, is the short distance to the motor capital of Detroit. While this city may have declined in recent years, it was once so great and thriving that there were none like it in all the world. This was during the most brilliant age of the automobile ever; Detroit produced the best in classic cars for a long time. Now, Chicago is home to many of these old, classic vehicles. It has retained them after the years due to the fact that it received more than many other cities. Chicago's economy was booming as well, after all, and the people there could afford the best.

Since all of these classic cars are now available in Chicago, people can come and buy them from everywhere. This helps sellers, of course, because it means that they have a large market for their wares and are able to move these cars at an excellent rate. It helps buyers as well, though, because it drives the prices down a bit. There is competition, and so it means that the prices on these cars, while being high just because the cars are so desirable, are not inflated to unreasonable amounts. Buying the same cars in other parts of the country would be a hard process that would cost one quite a bit more money.

Classic cars are not all that Chicago has, though. It is still one of the most populated of American cities, and the people living there need to own cars. Chicago imports cars from all over the world, from makers such as Honda, Volkswagen, and Mercedes Benz. The market is wide open and plentiful. Whatever one is looking to buy, it can be found in Chicago. Once again, the competition keeps the prices reasonable. If a Honda Civic costs $18,000 in Michigan and Arizona, it will cost no more in Chicago. Sometimes it will even cost less, as dealers in the city have limited space and need to move product in order to make room for new arrivals. This is especially true at the end of each season, when the new models are just coming out and the old ones can be sold off.
