However,there are instances when internships become more of a stress-inducer, rather than an enriching endeavor. Intern leaders may be hard to get along with,and may also seem unhelpful. Without further ado, here are three tips how you can deal with this kind of internship bosses.
If your boss won't give you tasks, do the move yourself. For one, you did not apply as personal coffee-maker. You signed up for a practicum hoping that you would be able to apply and grow what you have learned in class. You are unlucky if your superiors seem like they have already forgotten about you. You should not feel happy you have the whole day, free.

Write manuscripts still, even if you are not told do so. After all, once you are already in the industry as a full time worker, you'll see that employees are not always instructed what to do. They take the initiative to assist their work colleagues. Make use of your time efficiently. Even if you are not paid by the company,it is part of your responsibility to be of help to them.
Talk to your supervisor. Approach your team lead if he is still not giving you anything to work on. Remind you boss of the reason why you entered an internship with them. Discuss politely with them that the university might not acknowledge your internship should they find out that you have been busy with filing papers alone. Be proactive. Let your boss know what you can do, areas you may be of help and your interests as well, so they can assign you to duties where you can make use of your skills
Your boss may probably be also busy with other office matters so it's okay to approach them, and inquire what you can do to help the team.
Build connection yourself. You can introduce yourself with your officemates if your supervisor still has not introduced you yet. You will not have to call everyone's attention. Start it with your seatmate. It would definitely feel annoying to be working for a company for a month and yet everyone, even those seated beside you, still look at you differently. Talk with your colleague, especially the veteran ones, about the job they do. This is also an effective way for you to grow your network.
Your immediate supervisor is not the only person who can help you with your recommendation letters. It is also easier to accomplish tasks when you are comfortable with your work colleagues.
Be honest with your boss. Advise immediately if you think you would need help to complete a task. It will only put off your superiors if you agreed that you can meet the deadline, and then later come up to them saying you cannot make it. Review your resume before submitting it. Can you stand up to what you have written there.
Probably one reason why your boss assigned you that duty is because your resume says you can do the job. Should the task not fit your skills, do not be shy to ask your work colleagues. The internship period is one learning process for you. It's okay to get lost at one point, and if the company has long been accommodating interns, then regular employees are likely expecting that you will seek for their assistance.
Be your own guard, don't just give up
You have the option to back out should you deem that your supervisor is being way too unreasonable already. But before you do that, ensure that you have already discussed the situation with the university intership coordinator, or guidance counselor.
Do not be too sensitive. When the editor asks that you write the entire essay writing output again, do not be disheartened. For all you know, your work colleagues might have experienced something more terrible than that.
