Distract her. You can usually sense it if your daughter's emotions are beginning to heighten. The secret? Before the meltdown happens, distract her! You can engage her in a fun activity (like playing dress-up in her favorite dress and hair accessories) or point out something interesting to look at (the mailman walking outside, the dogs walking by, the birds perched on trees). This will give your toddler's mind a chance to refocus on something more pleasant, or at least less frustrating.
