Deciding Between DIY Or Getting a Paid Service For Fence Installation?
Many customers will also be wondering whether they should be installing a wireless
or in ground fence on their own or whether they should be using a paid service for installation. Both options have their value; however, the emphasis for a paid service is largely overstated. In fact, much of the material on the internet suggesting a paid service is often written by those supporting such a service. The unfortunate result is that many people pay for a service they can do themselves relatively easily. Here, we take a look at a few of the more common factors that people should consider when deciding between the two options.
1. Cost: This is probably one of the more significant factors for most people. The cost of getting someone else to perform the installation can climb high very quickly depending on what service you get and the size of your yard. In contrast, do-it-yourself installation is often a cheaper alternative although you will have to spend some time to setup the system.
2. Learning Curve: The learning curve or perceived learning curve is what causes many people to want to get a paid installation over a DIY installation. However, the reality is that there really is not much to setting up an in ground or wireless fence. Many customers should recognize that many people every day setup these fences with little difficulty and are able to save a good deal of money in the process.
3. Time: This is in my opinion the biggest factor in favor of using a paid service for installation. If you are in a position where you simply do not have the time to devote to a proper installation, you will be better off either going with a paid service for installation. However, you can often still save in costs by getting a standard wireless or in ground system and paying a handyman or neighborhood boy in the neighborhood to set it up for you.
