It can be a difficult decision when you have to select a reliable Internet provider for your home or office

You may not know much about the providers in your area and the Internet options available to you, but you do know that you want to be able to get online at fast speeds without dealing with a slow Internet connection. If you are trying to decide between a dial-up connection for your home or office and a satellite Internet connection, you can do some online research and see that satellite is the faster option.

Four of the most common types of Internet include dial-up, cable, DSL and satellite Internet. Many people used a dial-up connection when the Internet was a new and unknown thing for homes and offices. Some people stuck with the dial-up connection because they didnt feel like changing providers, they didnt use the Internet enough to notice the slow connection or they just didnt know there were other options available to them. A dial-up connection can be frustrating for someone who is trying to get online quickly to access important information for a school project or meeting. You will also find that it is especially slow when you are trying to e-mail a file or document. If you dont want to have to wait for your documents to upload and then for your e-mail to transfer each time you want to work on something, then you should consider one of the other Internet options available to you.

You will be able to work faster when you have a faster Internet connection. Cable Internet is one way to speed up your Internet connection rather than using a dial-up connection. The one thing many people dislike about the cable option is that you have to use the same provider that provides your cable television. Many people are either not please with their cable television providers or simply dont want to give one company more of their business. If you dont want to work with the same company who provides your cable television package, then you should consider some of your other options.

Another commonly used option is DSL. A DSL connection works by transferring data through your phone lines. The one problem with DSL is that it requires you to have special copper wiring for your phone lines. The data is transferred through the copper wiring and using a DSL connection is not possible unless you have the copper wiring to transfer the data in your phone lines. Many homes are not equipped to support this kind of connection. You will need to research if your house or office is equipped for this before you select it as your form of Internet connection.

You can, however, always connect to the Internet with satellite Internet. By using satellite Internet broadband, you can get online without using the same company as your cable television and without special copper wiring in your phone lines. Youll have a reliable Internet connection at speeds that are faster than dial-up!
