Deciding What To Grow In Your Vegetable Garden

Deciding what you should grow as your first crops can be a tough decision

. You are constantly bombarded with advertisements that promote special herbs and spices you can grow right from your own home, and you might be conflicted as to whether you should grow this or a regular kind of crop, such as tomatoes or another kind of traditional vegetable. In fact, there has been much discussion about the effects that advertising overload has had on the population, and it is a controversial issue indeed. However, I am here to clear up any confusion, and let you know what the best crops are.

The level of your gardening abilities is a huge deterministic factor in this decision. The reason for this is that some things are much harder to grow than others. While some plants grow themselves, others need special care and supervision in order to flourish properly. If you are a new gardener, you do not want to have to be worrying about this, especially if you have a lot of plants to tend for. It is best to get something that basically grows itself, as long as it gets the basic nutritional necessities, of course.

There are many things that you can get as a beginner which will be fairly easy to tend for. For example, you could grow tomatoes, which a lot of people like, have strong yields, and are simple to tend. Many other vegetables fall under this list too, such as peppers, onions, carrots, squash, and lettuce. Come to think of it, you could use all of these things in organic, homemade salads, and the selection is definitely adequate for something like that. Although nothing on this list is too advanced, I know that at least it would be enough to sustain me for many years to come.
