Deciding Whether To Hire A Golf Instructor Or Not

Golf may seem like a fairly simply game

Golf may seem like a fairly simply game. As an amateur, you may wonder whether paying for golfing lessons is really worth the cost.

You already know that the object of the game is to get the little white golf ball into the hold by hitting it as few times as possible with the club. With this simple goal, it may seem like practice is all this game really takes.

However, as with all sports, this game depends on the proper technique in order to achieve the best scores. It is very common for new golfers to spend a lot of time looking for their ball after they hit it.

Most of the time it will be in the rough or it will have ended up the pond for some reason. This may take most of your time instead of simply enjoying the actual game.

This is the most frustrating aspect for most beginners as well. However, this happens to everyone and frustration will only make your game worse than it is.

The most difficult technique to learn when learning golf is how to drive the ball. At first glance, driving the ball may look very easy.

An amateur will see that you put your hands around the club, try to keep your body straight, hold up the club and swing. However, there is so much more to the actual game of golf.

If you were to take lessons, you would learn that you are supposed to keep your head still throughout the entire swing. You would also learn that if you try to hit the ball too hard, you will spend a lot of time hunting for your ball.

Your instructor would also tell you to relax your body and muscles before attempting to hit the golf ball. When you are tense you are more likely to have the golf ball go off course.

They will also let you know that how far your ball goes depends more on the quality of the contact and the transfer of focused energy rather than brute strength. A perfect contact with focused energy will send the ball sailing in a straight line in the direction that you would like.

It will also send your ball farther down the course. As you keep your head still when you golf, you will keep a steady focus on the goal and the ball.

This will allow you to hit the ball with the perfect contact with the flat club. As you keep your head still, your brain will automatically send little signals to your brain that will adjust your swing to hit the ball correctly.

It will also adjust your timing, which is essential to the follow through and ultimately how straight your ball will fly. It is also critical that you keep the proper balance.

If you are flying off balance, it will definitely affect how you contact the ball which will affect how straight and far the ball will fly. However, keeping your balance in golf does not mean simply not falling over.

In golf, balancing the body means keeping the body weight evenly distributed throughout the swing in all directions. Most of the time the left to right balance is easy for people to adjust.

However, most people struggle with being able to balance their front to back weight. Most people are not successful in truly achieving the proper body balance until they work with a knowledgeable instructor.

As an amateur you may notice that it is alright if the head looks down. This helps the golfer to see the ball and keep the proper focus.

However, the head should remain still throughout the swing. This can also lead to other bad golfing habits.

With the head down, your body weight will tend to move too far forward and you will be tempted to slouch into bad body posture. Your instructor will be able to notice when you are being lazy and will tell you what to change to get your swing to be correct.

The correct golfing position is unnatural for most people. It is hard to get used to and it is much easier to develop if you always have someone to correct you when you are on the green.

If you do not have an instructor, practicing in the mirror can help you realize what you do incorrectly in your swing. However, you cannot properly watch the ball while you examining your posture.

It is easiest to learn real golf with an instructor. However, you will have to decide if it is worth the price for you.
