But before you actually begin using this method, you will need to prepare your wall. Make sure that your wall is prepped for the method. Get rid of the old painting on the walls, because remnants of old paint can damage the new look. So get your old paint sanded off. After giving it a good dusting, you need to give your wall a coat of primer. Priming makes sure that your wall colour doesnt come peeling off of the walls, ruining your home painting. Once youre done with priming, you need to give your wall a base colour coat. It would be better that the base colour be a lighter one, and use a slightly darker one for your top coat. But the choice of colour combinations is yours, really. So long as the colours work out the way you want them to, there really isnt a problem.

After the base coat is given and well dried, you can start on the actually dragging procedure. You need to apply a coat of glaze colour to the base coat. This is best done using a roller, as it covers more area. And once thats done, you should use a brush to drag through the paint, leaving a pattern on the wall. Make sure you hold the brush nearly parallel to your wall, so that the brush forms almost a straight line. You need to wipe off the excess of the glaze colour so that you dont ruin the wall paint. Also make sure that you get the brush from one end of the wall to the other. When youre working, there are chances that youll end up covering too much of the wall with the glaze paint. Try to avoid this as much as possible. If the paint begins to dry before you can start your procedure, then your home decor likely wont turn out that well.

This will give you an idea of how quickly you need to work and youll also know how much of an area you can cover in a given period.
