Kitchen racks now come in almost every size and style. Kitchen racks, or if you prefer, baker's racks make beautiful additions to any kitchen or dining area. Some have built in wine racks and some are equipped with pull out drawers.

Kitchen racks have so many different styles and sizes that they are no longer dedicated just for the kitchen. We can use them in any room we wish. Many years ago these racks, also known as baker's racks, were used by commercial bakers and our great-great grandmothers for cooling all their baked goods. The shelves on these kitchen racks are open for a reason and that was to speed up the cooling process of all those delicious pies and baked goods.

Today these racks are used for decorating our kitchens or bathrooms. A kitchen rack is usually constructed of wood or metal. There are stainless steel bakers racks usually have shelves that are constructed of glass, metal, or wood. Some are quite simple looking and some have ancient scroll designs or intricate metalwork designs.

A baker's rack generally has one main shelf that is wider than the rest and is used as a work area. Some of these racks have all their shelves the same size. Most of them are used resting against a wall for storage, displaying houseplants, and for cooling baked items. Some racks are free standing and contain wine racks, drawers, and cabinets for storing dishes. Some racks even hang from the ceiling and are capable of being used as cookware racks or pot racks, some are small and can be attached to a wall and are used as dish racks or spice racks.

You can use wrought iron baker's racks for displaying your some collectible items and set up in any room. Some are used for holding towels and beauty products for convenience in a guest room or a guest bathroom. Some can be used as a sideboard for storing or displaying serving pieces or your favorite china. Some are designed to be placed in a corner to hold decorative dinnerware or your favorite plants. Any of these kitchen racks can be used as additional storage or kitchen shelves in the kitchen or bathroom.

You can use these racks for baked goods, baking supplies, cookbooks, baskets, plants, towels, small appliances and flowers from the garden. They can mount on a wall, stand alone, or hang from the ceiling and can be used for just about anything. They are not only handy in kitchens, bathrooms, guest rooms, and hallways, but also in a home office to hold some of your files, books, or adding machines. Let your imagination run wild and you could probably come up some even better ideas for kitchen racks.
