Virgin olive oil, a large pan, rosemary leaves, hair clips, a shower cap or plastic wrap, hair brush and towel.
Instructions
Take the large pan and add quarter cup of virgin olive oil. Also add half a cup of the dry rosemary leaves. Now light the stove and place the pan over it. Heat the oil to medium warmth. Do not overheat the oil as it can burn your scalp.
Once the oil is warm take it away from the stove and strain to take out the rosemary leaves. Detangle your hair by brushing gently. Now spread the oil mixture all over your scalp and hair, starting from the scalp to the tip of the hair. Those with oily hair need to use only a small quantity of oil. Paying attention to the tips of the hair can effectively reduce split ends.
Partitioning your hair is a good method to spread the oil all over the hair uniformly. Partition the hair into smaller sections and hold them in place using separate hair clips. It can be done as per your wish and ease of applicability. Now take one inch wide sections at a time and apply the oils evenly across them in a horizontal motion. Once you complete applying oil on one section, place them back using clips. Take out the next section and repeat the same procedure until all the sections are done.
Now cover your hair using a plastic wrap or shower cap. Place a towel inside a microwave oven and make it warm. It should be steamy but not too hot that it could cause burns to your skin. Wrap the warm towel around your hair. This is done to open the hair follicles. It helps in better absorption of moisture and oil into the hair scalp.
Allow the towel to stay for about half an hour. After half an hour remove the towel and the plastic wrap. Use a mild shampoo to rinse off the excess oil from the hair. Towel your hair to remove wetness and allow the hair to dry naturally.
If your hair is oily type then you should do this treatment only once a month. But if you have dry hair it is recommended that you do the treatment once in a week.
