Eczema flare-ups often result from poor eating choices and habits. We can't control a lot of what goes on around us or even in our own lives. We can, however, control what we eat. We all have different skin. Some people may react poorly to milk, others to eggs. Others may not be bothered at all by milk or eggs. That's why it is important for you to determine yourself what foods hurt your skin, and what foods help make your skin better.

If you are not sure which food caused the reaction, eliminate one of the foods each day to see if your condition improves or worsens. Over time you will be able to see a pattern develop that shows you what foods to avoid.
Be aware of your body and skin. Abdominal discomfort or pain after a meal may correspond to an eczema or acne flare-up. What did you eat that caused your stomach to act up? That could also be what caused your skin to become red, swollen, and itchy. Be alert to the signs your body gives you. What you put inside your body often affects your skin, for better or worse.
As a general rule, we should all stay away from sugars and fatty, salty, refined, or fried foods. And we should, instead, be eating more raw, easy-to-digest, healthy foods that are rich in antioxidants, zinc, and Vitamins A, B, and C, in particular.

best foods for skin that fit the above description and have been shown to help repair damaged skin include blackberries, blueberries, apples, plums, squashes, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes. Studies also have shown that a tablespoon a day of flaxseed oil, and regular daily use of primrose oil can help keep you eczema-free.
