Degrees from distance learning programs and a general degree program have the same significance, if the institute is certified and approved by the board of education. So before you join a distance degree program, you should verify that the school you have chosen is certified.

You can get a distance degree for any field. There are certain programs such as medicine and surgery that need laboratory work are not offered in distance learning.
