, which is directly under its control. This event took place in the year 1948. A Road Transport Authority was constituted under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950. Thereafter, the transport service in Delhi was termed as DTC. Delhi buses are the most common mode of transport in the capital. The Working Group of Planning Commission stated that Delhi Transport had not been functioning efficiently. This was also associated with the loss of huge amounts of money. Thereafter, Govt. of India took over the assets and liabilities from the erstwhile Delhi Transport Undertaking. DTC was finally set up in 1970. Delhi Transport Corporation laid few aims and objectives. Providing an economical and coordinated system in all the areas of Delhi was one of the major objectives of Delhi Transport Corporation. DTC has always been focused to achieve high level of operational efficiency. It has developed around three thousand buses in the NCR region. Delhi buses cover numerous routes all over the NCR region. The bus fare is very reasonable. Thus, each and every person can afford to travel by Delhi buses. Blue line buses are very common. Nowadays, low floor buses are seen on the roads of Delhi. These are green colored CNG buses. Air conditioned buses are recently introduced in Delhi. Air conditioned buses of Delhi Transport Corporation are red in color. Journey by Delhi buses is very comfortable. The service is fast and regular. Delhi Transport Corporation also provides the facility of Tours, which starts everyday except on Monday. The bus fare for adult is Rs. 200 and Rs. 100 for children. Bus service is undoubtedly the best transport service in Delhi.
