Description Of My Home Office Design

I love working from home. On those hot days where one just doesnt feel like getting out, a home office can be a great relief. My own private space, where I can sit and pull long hours of work without having to move out, is truly a blessing.

While working on the office design of my space at home I went through many ideas and pictures on the net and decided that I wanted an earthy and warm feel for my space. Below you will find a detailed description of my workspace at home.

Lets start with the floor. The floor is laminated wood and the color is slightly reddish brown. The grooves look like maple wood. The skirting along the wall is also from the same shade and range so it looks really nice put together. The floor came pre installed in the apartment so didnt have to spend anything there. Laminated wood is easy to clean, very cost effective and looks great so I would definitely recommend this as a top choice for flooring options.

The next aspect of my office designis the wall color. Being in a rented accommodation I could not change the color of the walls and therefore had to let them be white. The paint used is plastic emulsion and offers a great cost effective solution as a wall finish.

Now for the windows I have used blinds as well as curtains in two separate layers, as where I live the temperature can go up to 45 Celsius. Both the blinds and curtains are shades of yellow and go very well with the theme of the room.

Next we move on to furniture, which is also my favorite part. I bought a beautiful suede leather sofa set which has a light brown suede upholstery on the bottom and back cushion and dark brown leather on the sides, back and bottom. The sofa is very comfortable and came in the combination of 3 +1 +1. To complement the sofa I bought a matching coffee table, which is also dark brown in color and matches perfectly with the leather. The tables design is sleek and simple. The dimensions of the table are 4 by 23and it fits in perfectly in my room, which is 9 by 11.

Luckily when trying to add depth to the floor I found a carpet that was a perfect match with my furniture. The carpet has two shades light brown, which matches exactly with the suede lather and dark brown with matches exactly with the other leather on the sofas.

The carpet dimensions are 5 by 4 and it is placed below the coffee table. The combination of the sofa, the table and the carpet looks awesome. I needed space to keep books and hence had to add another component in my office design. So I went ahead and bought a bookrack. The bookrack 5 shelves and stands 6 tall and 3 wide. It is made or pure Sheesham wood and has a natural polish. The sides of the shelves have wrought iron grills in a beautiful pattern. This piece really adds character to the space, which is a very important aspect of a spaces interior.

The walls still looked to white and an element of nature was required so I got a beautiful palm plant and placed it in the corner. The palm stands about 6 high and adds a refreshing feel to the whole office. I was able to create a space that was cozy, comfortable and peaceful and very conducive to work.
