, rugs and lamps to enhance the decorative appeal of their rooms. The types of items used as accessories in rooms will often be purchased to match the room's colors and furnishings. When selecting home decor and accessories with a theme, there are several styles to choose from. A theme can be a specific point of interest such as nautical or country, or it can centered around a specific culture. There are a number of ways to accentuate a room so it has an exotic, tropical or island feel.

One of the more popular cultural themes used to create home interiors is based on the styles found in India. Products available to use as Indian home decor include an array of vases. These come in various sizes so they can either be placed on a table or desktop or set directly on the floor. The vases from India usually incorporate a number of colors into the design which can include both patterns and figures. Another popular item found in the Indian culture is a wall tapestry. These also incorporate various colors, with one color used as the central shade.

Items of art found in the Indian culture can include several statues or figurines as well as masks. The figurines are often made as symbols of the gods worshiped in this region. Ganesh is one of the more common figures used to create decorative pieces of art. This particular figure can be carved from wood or sculpted out of metal such as brass. Some of the higher quality pieces are made of genuine marble. Wooden items can also come in the form of decorative masks which can be hung on a wall. Other sculpted pieces made from wood include animals native to this region such as elephants camels and peacocks. These pieces are usually painted to enhance the visual appeal.

Lamps are another way to enhance the theme of a room. The lamps found in India will usually have very decorative shades. These shades are made of fabrics which have colorful patterns designed to highlight the appearance of the lamp. A number of lamps from this region are designed as hanging lanterns. These items add a distinctive touch to the room they are placed in which helps draw all of the other elements together. Indian lamp shades are also available in various lengths and often have tassels on their bottoms.
