Building an office desk could be a quick and easy project that does not require much in the way of carpentry skills or tools. Line the top of the wood strip up with your line on the wall then secure with 2 1/2" wood screws into wall studs or good drywall anchors, this will be the support for one side of the desk.

To finish off, one end of the desk should rest on the wood strip and the other on the filing cabinet. You can secure the desk top to your ledger board on the wall by using caulk or liquid nails and your filing cabinet will be your other support.
